1.Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Canyon Lake Mobile, LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as Golf Cart Training Center ("GCT", "we", "us"), collects, uses and shares information about you on golfcarttraining.com, including the free courses, the Tech Pass and shop plans, the shop dashboard, the shop directory, certificate verification and the TXT48 simulator at golfcarttraining.com/simulator. Questions: team@golfcarttraining.com.
The short version: we collect what we need to run your training, your account and your shop's team. We don't sell your personal information, we don't share it for cross-site advertising, and the site has no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
2.Information we collect
Your account. Your email address and when the account was made. Your password, any older recovery code, and any sign-in, password-reset or invite links are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, so we can check them but can't read them. A session cookie keeps you signed in.
Your training. Lessons and sections completed, quiz attempts and scores, lab and simulator results and practice runs, certificates (ID, level, date earned, and the name you choose to print), and when you were last active.
Purchases. Stripe handles payment. We receive your email, a Stripe customer ID, which plan you chose, the number of seats, the subscription's status and renewal date. We don't receive or store your full card number.
Shops. The shop's name, city and state, the owner's email, seats and billing status, the emails of techs the owner adds, display names the owner gives techs, who is an overseer, a log of team actions, and (if the shop lists itself) its public name, address, phone, website and map location.
Forms you send. The "For Shops" form (your name, shop name, email, phone, number of techs and your note); a request to get your certificate by email; a suggestion from a module's suggestion box (your text, and your email if you give it or you're signed in); and a "Request service" message to a listed shop (your name, phone and/or email, and what your cart needs).
The TXT48 simulator. The email you enter to start; if you post a score, the display name (and, if you choose, an email) you enter; and leaderboard entries (display name, job, result and date). The simulator also saves your profile, repair history, scores and settings in your browser's local storage on your device.
Automatically.
- Visit counts, without cookies. To count visitors, we combine your IP address and browser type with a random value that changes every day and keep only the scrambled result (we don't store the IP address or browser type itself). Each day's random value is deleted the next day, so one day's visits can't be linked to another's or traced back to you. Per-visitor rows are deleted after 35 days; only daily totals (page paths and referring website domains, never full web addresses) are kept longer.
- Usage events. Pages send simple events (for example, "page viewed" or "certificate printed") with the page path, a few details about the event, and whether the device is a phone. No IP address is stored with them.
- Security. We use IP addresses briefly, in memory, to limit repeated sign-in attempts and abuse. For shop dashboard sign-ins and team actions, we record the IP address in the security and audit logs. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs.
3.Cookies and local storage
We use only cookies the site needs to work, plus a referral cookie (gct_
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| gct_ | Keeps you signed in | Up to 180 days, or until you sign out |
| gct_ | Shop dashboard sign-in for owners and overseers | Up to 24 hours (12 by default) |
| gct_ | Protect sign-in and join forms from forgery | 10 to 30 minutes |
| gct_ | Ties a shop checkout to the browser that started it | 2 days |
| gct_ | Set only when you open a founder's referral link (golfcarttraining.com/r/...): remembers which founder sent you, so they can be credited if you sign up or buy | 90 days |
Pages also use your browser's local storage for things like progress when you're not signed in, simulator history and scores, and settings such as Pete's voice. It stays on your device; you can clear it in your browser settings (that erases progress that wasn't saved to an account).
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We don't track you across other websites, and we don't sell or share personal information, so there is nothing for these signals to switch off. We treat every browser the same way.
4.How we use information
- to run your account and training, save your progress and issue and verify certificates;
- to run shop teams, the shop dashboard, seats and billing, and the shop directory;
- to process payments and manage subscriptions (through Stripe);
- to send emails you need: sign-in links, team invites, service requests to shops, account and billing notices;
- to follow up on forms you send, answer questions and act on suggestions;
- to send occasional news and training updates (you can opt out anytime);
- to understand how the site is used, in totals, and to improve it;
- to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and comply with the law.
5.Who sees your information
Your shop team. If you join a shop team, the shop's owner, and people the owner chooses (such as a manager or service advisor), can see your training progress: lessons completed, quiz scores, certificates, lab and simulator results, and when you were last active, including progress from before you joined, plus the email you joined with and any display name they give you. They can't see your password, payment details, or anything you do outside Golf Cart Training Center. Leaving the team (from My Shop) stops the shop from seeing your progress.
Anyone (public).
- Anyone with a certificate's ID can see, on the Verify page, the certificate level, the name on it, the date earned, a masked email and the shop team (if any). Verify pages are kept out of search engines.
- A listed shop's public name, address, phone, website, map, GCT Certified Shop status and the number of its techs with each certificate (never their names).
- Leaderboard display names and scores.
Founders who referred you. If you came through a founder's referral link, that founder sees only counts and commission amounts (for example, "2 shops, 1 Tech Pass"), never your name, email or what you do on the site.
Shops you contact. A "Request service" message goes to that shop's owner(s) by email. The shop uses it to reply to you and is responsible for how it handles it afterward.
Companies that work for us (service providers), only to provide their service to us:
- Stripe: payments, subscriptions, invoices and the billing page.
- GoHighLevel: our customer list and email delivery (contacts, labels such as "free account" or "shop lead", a pipeline for shops, and the emails we send).
- Google: internal tools that log and notify our team about new accounts, forms, suggestions and the simulator's sign-ups and leaderboard (Apps Script and Sheets); web fonts.
- Telegram: internal notifications to our team about new accounts, forms and suggestions.
- Shopify: hosts our videos, and the simulator's sign-up list is kept in the Shopify customer list of Canyon Lake Mobile, LLC's golf cart store, so simulator sign-ups may get cart tips and offers from it.
- Railway: hosting for the site and its database.
- Cloudflare (cdnjs) and OpenStreetMap: the map on shop pages.
When your browser loads fonts, maps or videos from these companies, they receive your IP address and browser details, as with any website.
Legal and business reasons. We may share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a merger, sale or reorganization of the business (the new owner would have to honor this policy).
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6.Emails we send
We send account and service emails (sign-in links, team invites, service requests to shops, billing notices); you'll get these while you have an account or a plan. Stripe sends payment receipts. We may also send occasional news and training updates, and the simulator's sign-up sends cart tips and updates; you can opt out of those at any time with the unsubscribe link or by emailing team@golfcarttraining.com.
7.How long we keep information
- Account, training and certificate records: while your account exists. Delete them by asking us.
- Shop records and the team audit log: while the shop exists, plus as long as needed for billing, security or legal reasons.
- Forms, service requests and suggestions: as long as needed to follow up, and for our business records.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting laws require (Stripe keeps its own records).
- Visit counts: per-visitor scrambled rows 35 days; daily totals about 400 days.
- Sign-in links: one use, 30 minutes. Backups of the database roll off after about a week.
When we delete your account, we remove or anonymize your information, except what we must keep by law.
8.Security
We protect information with measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, codes and links, secure sign-in cookies, rate limits on sign-in and forms, strict limits on who on our team can see data, and audit logs. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise absolute security. Keep your password and inbox safe.
9.Your choices
- See, fix or delete your information: email team@golfcarttraining.com from your account's email.
- Leave a shop team anytime from My Shop.
- Shop owners can edit or unlist the shop's listing anytime from the shop dashboard.
- Certificate name: you choose it, and can change it.
- Emails: opt out of news and updates with the unsubscribe link, or by emailing us.
- Local storage: clear it in your browser.
10.Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you these rights:
- Know and access: what personal information we've collected about you, where it came from, why, who we disclosed it to, and a copy of it;
- Delete personal information we collected from you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of sale or sharing: we don't sell or share personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of;
- Limit use of sensitive personal information: the only sensitive information we have is your sign-in (email with password), which we use only to sign you in;
- Non-discrimination: we won't treat you differently for using these rights.
What we collect (past 12 months), by category: identifiers (email, name, phone, IP address for security logs); commercial information (plans bought, seats, subscription status); internet activity (pages and events on our site, in the form described above); professional or employment-related information (your shop team and the training record your shop sees); education-related information (course progress, quiz scores, certificates); approximate business location for listed shops. We don't collect precise geolocation. Sources: you, your shop's owner (who may add your email), your use of the site, and Stripe. Purposes and the companies we disclose to for business purposes are listed above.
How to make a request: email team@golfcarttraining.com with the subject "California privacy request". We'll confirm your request within 10 business days and answer within 45 days (we may extend once by 45 days and will tell you why). We'll verify the request by checking you control the account's email. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of the agent's permission and confirm with you directly.
Shine the Light: we don't share personal information with other companies for their own direct marketing.
11.Children
The Service is for a general audience and isn't directed to children under 13. You must be 16 or older to create an account, join a team, post to a leaderboard or send us a form. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email team@golfcarttraining.com and we'll delete it.
12.Using GCT from outside the United States
We're based in the United States, and we and our service providers process information in the United States. By using the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information will be processed there.
13.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; the version and effective date at the top will change. If a change is material, we'll give notice before it takes effect (for example, by email or a notice on the site).
